KMID ABC 2’s Desktop Alert is a new way to keep in touch with your world. Whether you are working or playing, Desktop Alert is always available as an icon on your taskbar. With a click, you can become aware of current weather and news that effects the Permian Basin. Desktop Alert is unobtrusive and is free of pop-ups and spyware.  This service is free to all KMID viewers.

Instructions:  To download the Desktop Alert, simply click here and a pop-up box will appear.  When the pop-up box appears click on Run . The program will then install automatically on your system.  Depending on your computers security level, a box may appear informing you that the publisher could not be verified.  This is an automated response to a download.  Simply click on Run again.  You will then see another pop-up box asking if you would like to repair or install the program.  You will then click on install.  After the program has installed you will be asked a series of questions that will allow the system to pinpoint your location so you will receive information for your area.
