MIDLAND -- A Midland overpass is back in service, after TXDOT crews closed it for an inspection Friday.

TXDOT closed down the West Loop 250 overpass over Interstate 20, to take a closer look at damage caused in December 21st.

On December 21st, a truck driving along Interstate 20 ran into the overpass with a load that was too tall.

The wreck caused significant damage to the overpass.

Even though the overpass is back open, the southbound outer lane of Loop 250 remains closed on the overpass.

There is also a weight limit of 10,000 pounds on the overpass for precautionary reasons -- meaning most trucks won't be allowed to use it.
