WEST TEXAS-- TXDOT says they've already begun preparing a mix that will treat local roads.

They plan to pre-treat affected areas before the snow falls.

That is unless it rains first, which means the roads will freeze, and the mix will be less effective.

Either way, TXDOT says all of the proper equipment is in place and ready to go, including snow plows.

Drivers have been asked to be extra careful for the remainder of the week, particularly on roads in the Davis Mountains, and in areas with sharp turns or steep hills.

TXDOT is also warning drivers in the Big Bend and Davis Mountains area to avoid driving in the snow altogether if possible.
