As the upper level system moves east it will bring snow for much of West Texas.  The dynamics with this storm are sufficient to provide the snowfall.  Easterly upslope flow at the surface will allow for the eastern slopes of the mountains to see the most accumulations.

8+" of snow is expected in the Guadalupe and Davis Mountains, 4-6" is expected in the surrounding plains with 1-4" expected east of the Pecos River.  Accumulating snow will start to fall this afternoon and evening in the Midland/Odessa area.

Snow will begin to taper off during the morning Friday with cloudy skies for Friday afternoon.

Temperatures will remain cold in the upper 30s today and tomorrow before warming into the lower 50s for the weekend.
