Odessa Police Investigating Death Of Young Boy As Homicide

ODESSA -- Odessa Police are investigating a child's death as a homicide.

 Police say that family members brought Omar Frias Jr. to Medical Center Hospital on January 10th, after the child was found to be unresponsive.

 Frias, 3, was treated at the hospital and then taken to Cook's Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.

 However, officers say that Frias died at Cooks Children's Hospital on Janyuary 11th.

 The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy on the child's body.

 The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office later ruled Frias' death as a homicide, and Odessa Police opened up an investigation.

 Police say that felony capital murder charges will be filed in the case, but no suspects have yet been named or arrested.

 Odessa Police say that an investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
