ODESSA -- Some big changes are coming to a major intersection in Odessa later this week.

Construction crews with Willis Electric will be replacing the traffic lights at the intersection of 2nd Street and Grant Street (U.S. 385) starting on January 24th.

The new light design will improve visibility of the signals.

Starting on January 24th, the intersection will become a 4-way stop.

A U-turn southwest of the intersection will also shut down.

The traffic pattern change will allow crews to remove the old signals.

The entire intersection will then completely shut down on January 26th, as crews put the new signals into place.

Drivers should avoid the intersection entirely if possible later this week, as the work progresses.
