A top general caught up in the Petraeus scandal has been cleared of allegations that he wrote potentially inappropriate e-mails.
The Defense Department Inspector General found that the allegations against General John Allen were "unsubstantiated."
Allen had been accused of sending the e-mails in question to Jill Kelley. You may remember Kelley is the woman who led to the F-B-I investigation that blew the lid off C-I-A Director David Petraeus's affair with Paula Broadwell.
Kelley had claimed she was being threatened by Broadwell.
Petraeus later resigned from his post at the helm of the C-I-A.
