Midland Man Accused Of Lighting Mother's Car On Fire

MIDLAND -- A Midland man is accused of lighting his mother's vehicle on fire.
   
    Jesse Bernie Mendoza was arrested on February 18th.

    Midland Police say that Mendoza, 32, doused his mother's 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt while it was parked in the 900 block of North Edwards Street around 9:45 AM on February 18th.

    Mendoza then allegedly used a match to light the car on fire.

    The blaze seriously damaged the vehicle.

    Now, Mendoza is charged with felony arson.

    As of Wednesday evening, Mendoza was being held in the Midland County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
