MIDLAND -- Two people are injured in an early morning high speed chase in Midland.

Midland Police say that an officer tried to pull over silver Mazda 6 that was driving the wrong way in the 600 block of West Illinois Avenue around 12:10 AM Friday.

However, when the officer tried to pull over the car, police say the driver sped off eastbound on West Illinois Avenue at speeds of about 92 miles per hour.

The driver of the Mazda 6 tried to turn left onto the eastbound lanes of front street, but he lost control of the vehicle.

The Mazda 6 then reportedly rolled over three times before coming to a stop.

The driver of the Mazda 6 and a passenger were both thrown from the vehicle in the crash, and both were rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital.

Police say that the driver had life-threatening injuries, while the passenger had minor injuries.

The names of the people involved in the crash haven't been released.

Police are still investigating the crash, and no charges have been filed.
