A surface low pressure system will stir up storms across New Mexico Thursday.

Winds in the upper atmosphere are out of the northwest and will carry the rain chances into the Permian Basin.

Expect to see chances of 20% - 30% in the Basin, with chances higher in the Trans-Pecos.

With any storms that develop, the main threats will be heavy winds and the chance for localized heavy rainfall and flooding.

If nothing else, these factors will cause scattered to widespread cloud cover, which will keep our temperatures in the lower 90's throughout the weekend.
