Tropical Activity May Bring Heightened Rain Chances For The Weekend 09-23-2012

High pressure is still in control, so clear skies and warmer than average temperatures will remain in place Monday and Tuesday.
Wednesday, we could see some cloud cover start to develop and temperatures should drop because of that cloud cover.
Temperatures will still be around 90 degrees through Wednesday with south winds gusting up to about 15 or 20 mph.
Thursday and Friday are looking a little more interesting.
A disturbance should develop out west, and right now some models are showing that disturbance combine with Tropical Storm Miriam.
That would strengthen the disturbance, and as it makes it's way east with all that tropical moisture, we could see some soaking rains develop across the Permian Basin.
Right now, we're going with about a 20% chance for Friday, but it's still several days out and we will keep watching the system to see what it does.
