Woman Allegedly Caught Crossing Border With Nearly 3 Pounds Of Meth In Panties

EL PASO -- A New Mexico woman is facing federal charges, after she was busted while crossing the border with nearly 3 pounds of meth in her underwear.

    Customs and Border Protection officials reportedly found 2.86 pounds of meth in 2 bundles hidden under Irma Estala Herrera De Nunez's clothes at the Ysleta international crossing in El Paso around 6 PM on October 11th.

    Herrera De Nunez, 47, reportedly tried to walk across the border with the drugs when she was caught.

    The Truth or Consequences, NM woman was reportedly carrying the bundles between her thighs under her clothes, with an elastic girdle holding the bundles near her underwear.

    U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Special Agents arrested Herrera De Nunez on the spot.

    Now, Herrera De Nunez is being held in the El Paso County Jail without bond.
