ODESSA -- An Odessa man is accused of leading Ector County Sheriff's deputies on a chase in a stolen work truck.

Scott Colby Shade was arrested around 10:35 AM Friday.

Ector County Sheriff's deputies say Shade first got on their radar when they got a call about a Ford F-350 being stolen from a hotel parking lot in East Odessa around 8 AM Friday.

Deputies eventually found and followed the Ford F-350 -- which belongs to C.S.A. Materials of San Angelo.

Deputies tried to pull over the pickup truck -- which was allegedly driven by Shade -- in the Walmart parking lot at 4210 J.B.S. Parkway.

However, Shade reportedly told deputies that the vehicle wasn't stolen and kept driving -- starting a chase.

The chase went through East 42nd Street, J.B.S. Parkway, East University Boulevard, several parking lots and multiple residential streets -- before ending in the 3700 block of Springbrook Drive.

Deputies say that a woman jumped out of the Ford F-350 as it was moving, sustaining minor injuries.

The woman and another female passenger were both detained once the chase ended, but neither was arrested.

Meanwhile, deputies say that Shade ran away from the Ford F-350 after the chase ended.

Deputies reportedly found Shade, 28, hiding in a bush behind a home in the 3600 block of Springdale Drive.

Deputies tried to take Shade into custody, but he reportedly dropped to the ground and tried to resist arrest.

Deputies reportedly pepper-sprayed Shade and took him into custody without further incident.

Now, Shade is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and evading arrest.

As of Friday evening, shade was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center without a posted bond.
