On Friday evening, threatening posts were made to the Topix.com website targeting specific authorities and the City of Midland.

The threatening posts have been removed from online, but the concern is still there.

The posts came from the username "El Diablo" who posted threats to the Pecos Forum on topix.com.

"El Diablo" reportedly mentioned Midland Police Chief, Price Robinson, Midland Police Officer Sgt. Ben Chavez, Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter and Fort Stockton Police Chief Art Fuentes.

"I don't want to say anything that would hurt that investigation" says Midland Mayor, Wes Perry.  "We're taking it very seriously and groups are coming in to deal with it appropriately".

Topix.com provided Big 2 with the following statement:

"We were contacted by Homeland Security on the evening of Friday, November 9th concerning threats that were posted in the Pecos, Texas forum earlier that same day.  We cooperated with Homeland Security with their investigation regarding the threats and removed the  posts from our site.  Topix is very concerned with our forums being misused by those who would threaten others and, as evidenced by our response on a Friday night after working hours, works closely with law enforcement when appropriate."

The incident is currently under investigation with the Department of Homeland Security.
