STANTON -- The Martin County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who reportedly tried to run over a sheriff's deputy in a vehicle.

Stanton Police tell Big 2 that Eric Ray Perez tried to run over a deputy who was serving an arrest warrant to him at his grandmother's home on County Road 2036 near Stanton on the night of December 27th.

The deputy -- who wasn't injured -- shot at Perez's car, but he got away.

Police say that Perez was wanted out of Midland County, but Martin County Sheriff's deputies moved tried to serve the warrant when authorities discovered that he was in Martin County.

Stanton Police haven't said what charge was on the warrant that Perez was originally being served with.

Now, Midland County Sheriff's deputies and Martin County Sheriff's deputies are looking for Perez.

Anyone who knows where Perez might be should call the Midland County Sheriff's Office at (432) 688-4600, or the Martin County Sheriff's Office at (432) 756-3336.
