MIDLAND -- U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway has officially begun his fifth term serving West Texas.

Congressman Conaway (R-TX, District 11) took the oath of office at the George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush United States Courthouse in Midland on Tuesday morning.

The Midland swearing-in ceremony came after another official swearing-in, which took place last week in the U.S. Capitol.

U.S. District Judge Robert Junell sworn in Congressman Conaway in Midland Tuesday morning.

"We had a great crowd this morning of constituents and supporters who came to participate and watch with me and say 'Thank you' for what I've been doing," Conaway told Big 2. "It's really heart warming for me to have folks come out on a Tuesday morning -- there's a lot of other things they could be doing -- to participate in this swearing in ceremony."

Congressman Conaway is currently the chairman of the U.S. House Ethics Committee and a member of the House Agriculture, House Armed Services, and House Intelligence committees.
