Afghan President Hamid Karzai will meet with President Barack Obama this week -- as Karzai's administration deals with some internal issues.

The Afghan leader's visit to the White House on Friday marks his second such meeting with the President.

Karzai's visit comes as the withdrawal of U-S and NATO troops approaches.

By the end of the year, troops are expected to hand over the responsibility of the country's security.

A December review showed that the capability of the Afghan military and police continue to lag behind expectations.

Karzai is also expected to step down in 2014, when elections are held.
