ODESSA -- Midland County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a convicted sex offender who allegedly moved to Ector County without notifying authorities.

Nathan Marion Ballard II was arrested around 9 PM on January 14th.

Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter says that Ballard, 25, moved to Odessa a month ago and didn't notify authorities.

Deputies discovered on January 7th that Ballard was no longer living in Midland County, and a search began for the convicted sex offender's new residence.

Deputies found out that Ballard have moved to a home along Tropicana Avenue in Odessa, and they moved quickly to arrest him.

Now, Ballard is charged with failure to comply as a sex offender (change of address).

As of Tuesday evening, Ballard was being held in the Midland County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
