Landon Shane Figert and Billy Joe Joiner were arrested around 11 AM on January 28th.
Odessa Police say that they pulled over a white 2-door vehicle that Figert, 30, was driving in the 800 block of Whitaker Avenue, after Figert failed to stop in the proper spot near a stop sign.
However, as 2 officers got out of their patrol unit, they say that Figert intentionally rammed his vehicle into the cruiser and drove off.
Officers caught up with Figert's vehicle 4 blocks later, and both Figert and Joiner, 26, were arrested on the scene.
Police say that they found some marijuana in the vehicle, and officers could reportedly smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from both men.
Officers also add that Figert was driving with a suspended license.
Now, Figert is charged with 2 counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a public servant, felony evading arrest and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (less than 2 o.z), misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple traffic violations.
Figert also faces charges for a misdemeanor possession of marijuana warrant out of Collins County.
Joiner is charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
As of Tuesday evening, Figert was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on $1,974 bond.
Joiner wasn't listed in jail records at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on Tuesday.
