MIDLAND -- A trial is underway for a man accused of murdering a family friend at a Midland home.

The trial against Christopher Hill got underway Tuesday in Midland.

Hill, 26, is charged with murder.

Prosecutors say that Hill shot Jeremy Johnson multiple times during a fight at a home at Johnson's home (at 911 Weatherford Street in Midland) on September 18, 2011.

Johnson, 28, was rushed to Midland Memorial Hospital after the shooting, but he didn't survive.

M.M.H. was also locked down overnight after Johnson was brought in to be treated.

Hill went on the run after the incident, but U.S. Marshals arrested him at a motel in Seminole County, FL on September 29, 2011.

If convicted, Hill faces up to 99 years in prison.
