MIDLAND---A story that brought tears to peoples' eyes on Wednesday about a missing dog belonging to a veteran, has come home after missing for four weeks.

A veteran named Brian who served in Afghanistan for 4 years, was born and raised in Midland and experienced nothing short of a miracle on Tuesday evening.

Brian's blue heeler named Bruce has been helping support Brian ever since he was a puppy and after four long and terrifying weeks, Bruce and Brian reunited.

Bruce made headlines when he was reported missing on January 2nd.

Teresa Tuttle is the spokesperson for Brian and says that Brian "said that he wanted to thank you guys, everybody, for your support".

The intersection at Golf Course Road and Todd Drive in Midland is where Bruce ran away when he escaped through a hole in the backyard fence.

On Tuesday evening, four weeks after Bruce vanished, Brian came home from work and found his furry friend waiting in the driveway.

"He jumped into Brian's arms and cried and he was so happy to be home" says Tuttle.

Bruce came back with a couple of battle wounds during his time away.  "He's a lot thinner, he's got some injuries to his paws, but he's going to be fine" says Tuttle.

Only Bruce will know what he went through during his time away, but Brian and Bruce are happy to be together again.

Tuttle says that Bruce was taken to the vet on Wednesday morning and is on some medication to help heal his wounds.

Bruce and Brian are back to business as usual, and even went to work together on Wednesday, just like old times.
