Sockers Introduce New Name, Logo

MIDLAND -- The team formerly known as the West Texas United Sockers has a new name and a new look.

The new logo and name, "Sockers FC" was revealed on Thursday in Midland. The logo is red, white and blue, to bring a more traditional soccer presence to the team's image.

General manager Monty Hoppel also announced an affiliation with FC Dallas West Texas, which is Major League Soccer's youth development program.
