Flames Engulf Midland Home With No Smoke Detectors

MIDLAND -- Flames engulf a Midland home.

    Flames broke out in a home in the 3700 block of Amelia Drive -- between Thomason Drive and Wall Street -- around 3:15 AM Monday.

    Fire investigators tell Big 2 that the home had no smoke detectors, and the owner woke up because he was coughing from smoke

    It's believed the fire started in the garage.

    The fire initially had potential to spread to other areas of the home, but firefighters were able to contain it to the garage.

    The owner is said to be okay.

    The cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday.
