Today, winds could range anywhere from 30-50 mph.  Factor in that dry air as well, and conditions are ripe for fire.  Overnight brings change to the basin, temperatures quickly drop below freezing.  And temperatures will remain on the cooler side for the rest of forecast including New Year's Eve forecast.  However, winds are expected to die down Friday afternoon.
