April was one for the record books by receiving 0.00" of rain, not even a trace at the Midland International Airport. Now that May is here, what else to bring in the first Monday other than rain? We had a few showers this morning, mainly in our far eastern counties before sunrise. Not enough o dampen this critically high fire weather but enough to cool us off a bit. As clouds linger this afternoon, temps will only warm to the 60's and 70's before skies clear completely tonight. Clear skies and light winds will allow temps to drop to near freezing. A Freeze Warning has been issued for tonight across much of the Permian Basin, Southeast New Mexico and the Guadalupe Mtns. This doesn't mean May will be a cold month by any means, 70's likely Tuesday, near 80 by Wednesday and 90's By Friday!
