Southwest winds will shift to the north behind a cold front Thursday morning, bringing cooler, seasonable temperatures to the Permian Basin. We are not anticipating any rain with this front as a dry line removed any usable moisture from the lower atmosphere. This system will only graze the southern counties in the viewing area, and locations in the southern Trans-Pecos could still reach 100 degrees. Most areas, though, will top out Thursday and Friday in the high 80's. Winds will shift back to the southwest just in time for Saturday, and those temperatures will rebound accordingly approaching 98 degrees on Saturday, 97 on Sunday and 96 degrees on Monday.
