breaking news
We got a break from the heat today, topping out at 89 with southeasterly flow bringing in cool moist air. Some of that humidity sparked some showers in the lower Trans-Pecos, but we stayed clear in the plains. Those winds will begin shifting to the Southwest on Saturday, bringing hot dry air into the area. We should top out at about 100 degrees Saturday, with dry windy conditions prompting a Fire Weather Watch for that day. Temperatures only increase toward the beginning of the week. We should top out between 100 and 105 in the early week, with cloud cover bringing us back down to 98 by Wednesday.
