High pressure starts breaking down as we head throughout the weekend and a cold front will come close to the area, dropping our temps into the upper 90's. Before that, though, we do have a heat advisory in effect until Saturday morning, meaning it will stay warm this evening and hot again tomorrow. After that, though, we will have alternating days of sunshine and minimal cloud cover. This will keep us in the upper 90's until at least Wednesday. Our next chance for rain will come with tropical storm Ernesto. We will have to wait a few days to determine where it makes landfall, but if it impacts the Texas coast, we could see some residual rainfall here in the Permian Basin.
