The northern Permian Basin saw rainfall during the early morning hours due to a shortwave of energy.  The rain did diminish as it moved south toward Midland and Odessa.  Partly sunny skies today will give way to scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening thanks to a weak frontal boundary to our north.  After today we will remain dry and hot in the triple digits into the weekend.
