The record high at Midland International Airport is 101 degrees and that is where we are expected to be this afternoon under lots of sunshine.

A strong cold front will push south during the overnight bringing us relief.  Winds will shift out of the northeast and be very gusty.  Gusts 40 to 50 mph can be expected with areas of blowing dust.  Gusts to 30 mph will be possible throughout Saturday.   There is a 20% chance for storms as the front pushes south.  Strong winds, lightning and heavy downpours will be the main concerns in any storms.  Temperatures will drop considerable Saturday and Sunday into the 80s.

Dry air will move in behind the front and we will see a gradual warming into the lower 90s for early next week.
