Showers will continue through the overnight hours Friday, with rain intensifying toward Saturday morning.

As of about 11:45 pm Friday, 4.18" have fallen at Midland International Airport.

This eclipses the daily record of 2.06" set back in 1980.

It also qualifies as the 3rd wettest day in the history of Midland.

The rains should slow down in the late morning, leading to some drier conditions Saturday evening.

After that, we should see some breaks in the clouds Sunday with highs moving into the low-80's.

Mostly Sunny skies will return Sunday with highs settling into the low to mid-80's for the rest of the forecast period.
