MIDLAND -- The November General Elections are 11 days away, and the Midland and Ector County Republican Parties are working to encourage voter turnout.

The groups partnered to host the "Get Out and Vote" press conference at the ATMOS building Thursday afternoon.

Railroad Commissioner candidate Christi Craddick was the guest speaker. Craddick highlighted the importance of this upcoming election and how it will affect domestic energy production for our area, and our nation.

The November Election will decide a U.S Senate seat and two positions on the Railroad Commission, which as the regulating agency of the oil and gas energy is especially important to the Permian Basin.

"It's very crucial that everyone around here gets out and votes" said J.Ross Lacy the President of Midland County Young Republicans. "That way we can have an energy-friendly administration that will bolster the economy in this area along with the job growth we've been experiencing right now."

State Representatives Tom Craddick and Tryon Lewis were also special guests at the event.

Election Day is November 6th.
