MIDLAND -- Every day more and more people are using social media to get connected, which can leave some people feeling left out of the conversation.

However, a West Texas museum is working to make sure everyone can connect with each other better.

On Wednesday, the Petroleum Museum in Midland hosted a presentation on staying connected in the digital age.

The presentation -- which went through the intricacies of e-mail and social media like Facebook and twitter -- was designed  for people that are finding it harder to stay in touch with just a telephone.

"The new technology is a fast developing realm," Leslie Meyer of the Petroleum Museum told Big 2. "And if they want to stay connected with the younger generation that are up and coming and are born into this age. It's important to learn it or at least become familiar with it so that they can."

Meyer says that many people in the audience may already be using one form of social media, but might want to branch out into additional areas.
