2012 Basin BBQ Blowout

ODESSA -- The Odessa Chamber of Commerce will host the 2nd Annual Basin BBQ Blowout on Thursday November 15th!  Local businesses and cooking teams will compete for the title of the "Best BBQ in the Permian Basin!"  All meat for judging will be provided by Albertson's. 
 
Teams include: Albertson's, Atmos Energy, Barn Door Steakhouse, Carpet Tech, Cetco Oilfield Service, Coca-Cola, Crume Sales, Light Tower Rentals, Lone Star State Bank, Odessa Country Club, Odessa Fence, Inc., Odessa Pumps & Equipment, Inc., Pemco Equipment, Prosperity Bank, Southwest 66 Credit Union, SouthWest Bank, and Target Logistics.
 
There are four categories for judging, Brisket, Ribs, Chicken, and (new this year) Other.  Last year's winners will try to hold onto their titles while newcomers like Prosperity Bank and Target Logistics will try to take the awards.

The Basin BBQ Blowout will be held in downtown Odessa behind the Ector Theater at 5th & Jackson. At 5 p.m. the gates open to the public and the fun will begin!
 
A raffle for a large, custom-made BBQ cooker mounted on a trailer will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012. The cooker is on display at Albertson's on 42nd Street.  Raffle tickets are $20 per chance and are on sale now at the Chamber offices and will be available at the event.
 
Although this event is not a sanctioned IBCA BBQ, IBCA guidelines will be used for judging.
