One of his representatives tried to donate a quarter of a million dollars to the US Anti-Doping Agency before it launched an investigation against him.
That's what USADA chief Travis Tygart told the CBS program "60 Minutes."
The investigation eventually led to the cyclist being stripped of his record seven Tour de France victories.
Armstrong has vehemently denied using banned performance-enhancing drugs and illegal blood transfusions during his cycling career.
The former cyclist is set to hold a "tell-all" interview with Oprah Winfrey later this month...his first since being stripped of his Tour de France titles.
