Former Ector County Sheriff's Deputy Accused Of Dealing Meth

MIDLAND -- A former Ector County Sheriff's deputy is now facing federal drug charges.

    Jackie Thompson made an initial appearance at the Midland federal courtroom on Friday morning.

    Thompson, 38, is charged with intent to distribute 500 grams of methamphetamines.

    Thompson is due back in court on January 30th.

    Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, Drug Enforcement Administration agents, Homeland Security Investigations agents, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, Ector County Sheriff's deputies and Odessa Police teamed up to arrest Thompson at a home at West 24th Street and North Redondo Avenue on the morning of January 24th.

    The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells Big 2 that Thompson worked as a jailer at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center under Sheriff Reggie Yearwood from May 1996 to June 1997.

    Thompson also worked in the reserve unit of the Ector County Law Enforcement Center from February 2002 to April 2003 and January 2009 to June 2009.
