GARDENDALE -- An early morning fire destroys a Gardendale trailer home.

Odessa firefighters tell Big 2 that the fire broke out in an add-on bedroom at a trailer home in the 14000 block of North Sunflower Avenue around 6:20 AM Monday.

The homeowner stepped outside for a moment, but returned when he heard a smoke detector go off.

The man the noticed that the add-on room was on fire.

The fire spread through the home's triangular roof, quickly engulfing the home in flames.

Firefighters had trouble extinguishing the blaze, since the home had a lot of nooks and crannies.

Luckily, everyone got out of the home safely, and no one  was hurt

However, the home is now unlivable.

The American Red Cross of Southwest Texas is assisting the 2 adults and several children who were displaced by the blaze.
