PRESIDIO -- United States Customs and Border Protecyion agents seize more than 7 pounds of cocaine hidden in a creative spot at a West Texas checkpoint.

C.B.P. agents found a number of anomalies in a 1997 Jeep Wrangler that was crossing into the United States at the Presidio Port-of-Entry around 11 PM on January 28th, and agents flagged the vehicle for an extensive search.

Agents were draining oil from the vehicle's oil pan when they found 3 cocaine-filled packages in the pan.

The packages -- which tested positive for cocaine -- weighed a combined 7.48 pounds.

The driver of the Jeep -- Ricardo Zavala Espinoza of Chihuahua City, Chihuahua, Mexico -- was arrested after the failed smuggling attempt.

Espinoza, 34, was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations agents during his arrest.
