Midland, Odessa See Sales Tax Revenues Rise In February

MIDLAND -- Both Midland and Odessa continue to see higher sales tax revenue figures in 2013 than they did in 2012.

    Odessa received  $3,904,049.76 in sales tax revenues for February. The amount includes the Economic Development Tax of 1/4 cent.

    The Odessa Development Corporation received $780,809,95 of the revenues, while the City of Odessa received $3,123,239,81.

    The City of Odessa's sales tax revenues represent a 9.68 percent ($275,699.63) increase over February 2012's figures ($2,847,540.18).

    The City of Odessa has collected $25,240,023 in sales tax revenues in the 2012-2013 fiscal year-to-date.

    The year-to-date sales tax revenue for the 2012-2013 fiscal year in Odessa represents a 18.04 percent ($2,045,346.07) increase from the 2011-2012 fiscal year totals at this time.

    Meanwhile, the City of Midland received $4,006,408 in sales tax revenues for February.

    The sales tax revenue for the Tall City represents a 15.7 percent increase ($543,609) over February 2012's figures ($3,462,799).

    Midland has collected $16,168,954 in sales tax revenues in the 2012-2013 fiscal year-to-date.

    The year-to-date sales tax revenue for the 2012-2013 fiscal year in the Tall City represents a 15.07 percent ($2,117,777) increase from the 2011-2012 fiscal year totals at this time.

    February sales tax revenues are based off of December sales.
