ODESSA -- For the second time in as many days, Ector County I.S.D. officials find an Airsoft gun at a district school.

Administrators at Blackshear Elementary found an Airsoft gun in a sixth grade student's backpack around 8 AM Wednesday.

E.C.I.S.D. officials say that someone actually told administrators that the student had a pocket knife in their backpack.

Administrators found the student and searched their backpack after getting the tip.

However, instead of finding a pocket knife, they found the Airsoft gun.

Administrators immediately confiscated the Airsoft gun.

E.C.I.S.D. officials say that Airsoft guns and other toy guns aren't allowed on any E.C.I.S.D. campuses.

The student will now face disciplinary action according to the E.C.I.S.D. Student Code of Conduct.

No students or staff were ever in danger during the incident, and the school day wasn't interrupted in any way.

E.C.I.S.D. officials also confiscated 2 Airsoft guns and pellets from a Permian High School student's backpack on February 12th.
