The company that makes Monster Energy drinks is making changes to the labels on its cans and containers.

According to reports in industry journal Beverage Digest and Business Week, Monster Beverage Corporation will use federal guidelines for food products in its ingredient labels.

That means the cans will list "nutrition facts" instead of "supplement facts" as they do now.

The new labels will also indicate how much caffeine is in the drinks.

Beverage Digest reported the change was in response to criticism over possible health problems and even deaths linked to energy drinks.

The FDA is investigating whether energy drinks can be dangerous to teens and people with heart problems.
