Late Day Thunderstorms with Gusty Winds for Thursday, 2-20-13

Thunderstorms will develop during the evening hours in the far eastern basin and quickly move east during the overnight allowing for clear skies for Thursday.

Thursday will be sunny but very windy.

We will remain dry with temperatures in the 60s through the extended.

Red Flag Warning 1pm to 7pm: Van Horn Highway 54 Corridor, the Davis Mountains, the upper Trans Pecos, the Marfa Plateu, Presidio Valley and the Big Bend.  Low relative humidities combined with gusty west/southwest winds will allow for any fires that develop to quickly spread.

High Wind Warning
: Guadalupe Mountains, from 11am to 5pm and Davis Mountains from 3pm to 6pm.  West southwest winds 35 to 45 mph gusting to 80 mph.

Wind Advisory: Eddy County Plains, Van Horn and the Highway 54 Corridor, the Davis, Apache and Chisos Mountains above 4500 feet, from 3pm to 6am. West southwest winds 35 to 45 mph gusting to 80 mph.
