Lance Armstrong's legal troubles are growing.

His lawyer says today that the Justice Department has joined a whistleblower lawsuit against the cyclist.

It was brought on by one of Armstrong's former team-mates.

The lawsuit accuses the team's former management of defrauding the federal government of millions of dollars because it knew about Armstron's drug use and didn't do anything.

Last month, Armstrong admitted he used performance enhancing drugs during his cycling career.

The US Anti Doping Agency, known as USADA, stripped Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles.
