ODESSA -- A police chase ends with a man behind bars, and a car stuck in a ditch.

Ector County Sheriff's Deputies say they tried to pull over Phillip Powell at Douglas and Andrews Highway around 3am Friday morning.  That's when they say Powell took off.

The chase ended at 22nd and Conover when the car crashed through a chain link fence and ended up in a concrete ditch.

Powell was then taken the Medical Center Hospital to have his injuries checked out.  After that he was taken to jail where he is charged with evading and possession of methamphetamine.
