Two pickups were racing at high speeds around 8:15 PM Friday when Midland Police tried to pull one of those trucks over on the east side of Midland . That truck's driver led police on a high-speed chase and officers lost track the vehicle.
D.P.S. troopers were notified of the chase by radio, and they found the pickup speeding near County Road 140 and Cotton Flat. At that point, the vehicle went off the road and into a pasture.
Police set up a perimeter near the intersection of County Road 140 and Cotton Flat, and they put out spikes to stop the vehicle. The driver and a passenger might have gotten out of the vehicle and fled on foot. Police were still looking for the suspect around 9:30 PM
