ODESSA -- A man who stood trial for killing his mother back in 2003 was back in court on Monday.

James Naylor was found not guilty for the murder by reason of insanity and has been committed to the Big Spring State Hospital ever since. On Monday, a hearing was held to determine whether or not he'd be released from the hospital.

Ector County District Attorney Bobby Bland argued against Naylor's release. Bland said that Naylor had several outbursts and was a danger to the community.

In the end, District Judge Denn Whalen denied Naylor's release. The order is valid for up to a year.
