MIDLAND -- Some good news for the City of Midland.

Homelessness in the Tall City is dropping. Linda Hamblin from the Midland Homeless Coalition says the number has dropped from 306 people living in shelters in 2009 to 223 in 2011.

But this doesn't mean that the need is gone. There is still a need for more affordable housing in Midland. The Coalition says that's the biggest barrier to people trying to find a place to live.
