MIDLAND --  Crews in Midland County had their hands full Wednesday morning, as a heater-treater exploded.

This explosion happened Wednesday morning at F.M. 1787 and F.M. 1492 near Pleasant Farms. It also caused some nearby grass to catch fire.

"It's just the nature of the heater-treater," Midland County Precinct 1 Constable Gene Smith told Big 2. "Literally, the heat and then something starts leaking and it causes an explosion."

Constable Smith, the Department of Public Safety, the Midland County Sheriffs Office and the Midland Fire Department were all on scene trying to put those fires out. The good news is that only the heater-treater was damaged, and no one was hurt.
