SAN ANGELO -- A polygamist leader was back in court in San Angelo on Wednesday.

Warren Jeffs is charged with sexual assault of a child and bigamy for incidents that allegedly happened at a Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints  Ranch in Schleicher County. The 55-year-old F.L.D.S. leader had a pre-trial hearing Wednesday morning to finalize deadlines for motions and trial dates.

Jeffs will stand trial on July 25th for the sexual assault charges, while his trial for the bigamy charges on October 3rd. He will also be back in court for a final pre-trial hearing on June 16th.

Meanwhile, William E. Jessop has filed paperwork in Utah to replace Jeffs as the F.L.D.S. president. However, Jeffs did not resign from his post, so he could still challenge the action in court.
