Former Odessa Police Officer On Trial

ODESSA -- A former Odessa Police sargeant was in court Tuesday afternoon, on the other side of the law.

Johnny Joe Valederaz is charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend. Shortly after the charges surfaced, he resigned from the force.

A jury was seated for the trial, and the case began Tuesday afternoon.
